We are pleased to share that Rashlin Bhachu, a patient of Advanced Perrin Technique Practitioner Rakhee Mediratta, has been featured in an episode on Raelan Agle’s popular YouTube channel to discuss her journey with ME/CFS and how the Perrin Technique has played a pivotal role in her recovery.

In this episode, Rashlin shares how she was always working hard, training for marathons and pushing herself on a physical level however all that changed after she got COVID in 2020.

“The CFS/ME got to a stage where I couldn’t function anymore. I couldn’t get out of bed without help and brushing my teeth felt like i was lifting 50kg weights. I truly did not understand what had happened and was lost, overwhelmed and confused.

What I found very helpful about the Perrin Technique was it was the first type of examination that I had where someone said you’re presenting signs of chronic fatigue syndrome.

In March 2020, when the world was in turmoil in trying to respond to a novel virus of which even the symptoms, let alone the long-term consequences,  were in doubt, Dr Raymond Perrin predicted that thousands  – potentially millions – would be affected by what has come to be called ‘long COVID’. His prediction – published online in the Journal of Medical Hypotheses in June 2020 as the paper ‘Into the looking glass: Post-viral syndrome post COVID-19’ – was based on his long study of neuro-lymphatics, how the body’s detox and drainage system interacts with the nervous system in health and disease.  

Sadly for those many millions of people, that prediction has become a reality.  More hopefully, Dr Perrin’s understanding of neuro-lymphatics has made it possible to offer a solution, based on his many years of developing the Perrin Technique to help ME/CFS and fibromyalgia patients recover.

Now, in this practical handbook, Dr Perrin spells out the basics of WHY and HOW to use the Perrin Technique to underpin recovery from long COVID and restore healthy lymphatic drainage from the brain following COVID-19 infection or vaccination. He brings together what is now known about the virus and its long-term consequences with his research and clinical experience of more than 30 years to offer solutions that can restore health, as the many case histories included here illustrate. 

Through the Looking Glass takes readers through the confusion around what long COVID really is and out the other side where it is possible to have a clearer view of what treatment will work and why.

Over the weekend of June 22 – 23 2024, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) played host to the inaugural Conference on Osteopathic Research and Knowledge (CORK).

Dr. Perrin flew to New York to join world renowned DO’s in an inspirational learning, teaching and networking setting, which also included celebrating the 150th year of Osteopathy!

On the first day of CORK, Dr. Perrin presented his lecture “The Osteopathic Techniques for diagnosis and treatment of Long COVID” (above) which was followed by a hands-on workshop in the afternoon of Day 2.

Dr. Perrin is pictured below at the conference reception celebrating the 150^th birthday of osteopathy alongside keynote speaker Prof. Hollis King (left), one of the leading US osteopathic teachers and research professors.

On the right hand side of the poster is Ira Monka, president of the American Osteopathic Association, as well as Alice Chen, an osteopath and scientist from San Diego, who was also a speaker at CORK this year. 

Congratulations to NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and Dr. Jordan Keys for a scintillating conference! NYIT also hosted a post-CORK event on the Perrin Technique™, with the three-day workshop taking place in Old Westbury, bringing together healthcare professionals eager to expand their knowledge of the technique.

Patty, a licensed Perrin Technique practitioner and NYIT faculty member, re-attended the full workshop to gain even more expertise when dealing with the increasing number of patients attending the Long Island Clinic.

Other leading NYIT School of Osteopathic Medicine Faculty members who attended as much of the workshop as possible was organiser Dr. Jordan Keys, Director of the Osteopathic Medicine Center and her colleagues Dr. To Li and Dr. Sheldon Yao, chair of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at NYIT.

We are delighted to welcome two new licensed practitioners in Italy following Dr. Perrin’s journey to the region of Umbria!

At the beginning of June, Dr. Perrin was lecturing at Panta Rhei in the Netherlands. 

Panta Rhei, founded in the early 2000s, is an agency that organises postgraduate courses for osteopathy, inviting guest lecturers from the Netherlands and abroad.

The 3-day masterclass, held on 30 May – 1 June, was the largest workshop yet with 25 attendees, and 16 of those becoming licensed Perrin Technique Practitioners!
