NEW RESEARCH SUPPORTS GLYMPHATIC INVOLVEMENT IN ME/CFS
A paper published in International Journal of Molecular Sciences on 27 November 2025 explores “Glymphatic System Dysregulation as a Key Contributor to ME/CFS” – something Dr Perrin first proposed over 35 years ago!

We believe the ME/CFS medical / scientific community will be interested in seriously considering glymphatic dysfunction an important contributor to its pathophysiology. If so, therapeutics that modulate glymphatic function may also benefit patients with ME/CFS.

THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS: A TRIUMPH IN PRINT AND PRACTICE
The Academy of Nutritional Medicine (AONM) featured a glowing review of Dr. Ray Perrin’s latest book, Through the Looking Glass: Diagnosing and Treating Long COVID Using the Perrin Technique, in their November newsletter. Described as a “tour-de-force”, the review shares how the book combines cutting-edge research with over three decades of clinical practice, offering invaluable insights for both patients and practitioners. To download the review in full, click the following link:
The AONM review praises the “impressive updated explanation” of how the Perrin Technique works, building on Ray’s groundbreaking 2020 Medical Hypotheses article, which linked disturbances in the neuro-lymphatic drainage to Long COVID and ME/CFS. The review also highlights how the book explores the role of the subarachnoid lymphatic-like membrane (SLYM), describing the publication as both timely and comprehensive.
Interest in Dr. Perrin’s work has surged following coverage in The Telegraph and other media. Since its release on 7th November, Through the Looking Glass sold out within one week due to overwhelming demand, with limited stock now remaining of Dr. Perrin’s other books too (The Perrin Technique: Second Edition and Concise Perrin Technique Handbook)

Perrin Technique™ featured in The Telegraph
An article published online in The Telegraph spotlights Dr. Raymond Perrin’s work and the development of the Perrin Technique for ME/CFS and long COVID.
It explores the origins of the technique, discusses the recent major breakthroughs in science which back up the foundations of the Perrin Technique and includes insights from the latest book, Through the Looking Glass.
Prof. Adrian Heald, consultant physician at Salford Royal (part of Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust), adds valuable support from a recognised NHS perspective as he calls for more research into the Perrin Technique and notes the technique’s “positive results” for ME/CFS and long COVID patients:
“We’re increasingly learning about the physiology on which the Perrin Technique is based. The science is slowly catching up with what Dr. Perrin has been proposing as a technique for many years… Anecdotally we have seen positive results in patients with very difficult to treat chronic fatigue/ME who have been seeing Dr Perrin.”

STUDY CONFIRMS BRAINS WASTE-CLEARANCE PATHWAYS IN HUMANS
A groundbreaking study from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has, for the first time, confirmed the existence of a functioning glymphatic system in living humans — a theory central to the Perrin Technique!
Researchers recruited five volunteers undergoing neurosurgery between 2020-2023. During the procedure, the volunteers received an injection of a dye (gadolinium) into their cerebrospinal fluid, followed by MRI scans to trace the dye’s movement through the brain. The results, published on October 7, 2024, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), show cerebrospinal fluid flowing through perivascular spaces, detailing a waste-clearance network in the brain
This mapping of pathways that clear neurotoxins to the body’s lymphatic and venous systems offers powerful validation for Dr. Perrin’s approach to treating ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, long COVID, and other conditions.
LONG COVID BOOK: OUT NEXT WEEK!
The wait is almost over! ‘Through the Looking Glass: Diagnosing and Treating Long COVID Using The Perrin Technique’ hits the shelves next Thursday, November 7!
Through the Looking Glass takes readers through what long COVID is and how the symptoms can be reversed using lymphatic drainage of the brain. For a first look, our publisher Hammersmith Health Books is offering a preview of the first chapter on their website:
Sneak Preview: Read First Chapter Online Here
In this practical handbook, Dr. Perrin spells out the basics of ‘why’ and ‘how’ to use the Perrin Technique to underpin recovery from long COVID and restore healthy lymphatic drainage from the brain following COVID-19 infection or vaccination. He brings together what is now known about the virus and its long-term consequences with his research and clinical experience of more than 30 years to offer solutions that can restore health, as the many case histories included in the book illustrate.
The foreword is written by Dr. Yassine Bendiabdallah, a Functional Medicine Specialist, who shares how he discovered the Perrin Technique during his own journey with long COVID, finding it to be a “comprehensive, evidence-based approach” that transformed his recovery. He now considers it an indispensable part of his therapeutic toolkit for treating post-viral conditions.
This highly anticipated book is currently available for pre-order across many major online booksellers worldwide!
